Jordan came home yesterday from his tour of Africa. Really, part of Africa. He did well. Time ran out on him plus he found he couldn't get a visa for Ethiopia so he flew home from Nairobi.
He has an exciting story to tell - with adventures such as joining a herd of elephants and chasing giraffes on his Yamaha 350 trail bike. Believe it or not but its true - he's come home with a batch of sand fleas in his toes. These little demons commonly called jiggers make their home in your toe, usually just by the edge of the toenail and then grow an egg-sack full of little jiggers. It itches, and can be a real problem. They have to be dug out with a pin taking care not to bust the egg sack! Then - a few days of applying antiseptic ointment usually clears up the wounds. Well - last evening saw me doing the digging and out came the jiggers - just busted two - not bad!

By the way - the Bible says to watch where you walk. Jiggers come from going around with open sandles or no shoes, usually in sand where they keep pigs - in tropical countries. Lesson for us maybe.
